ECMA announces Showcase performers for Family, Aboriginal Showcases and Atlantic Superstore Soundwaves Program
Sydney, Nova Scotia ? The East Coast Music Awards and Conference 2005 is pleased to announce the performers for the Family Showcase stage, the Aboriginal Showcase stage and the Atlantic Superstore Soundwaves school performances program.
The ECMA is excited to be featuring an Aboriginal Showcase stage for the first time in its 17-year history! This stage promises to be a great success with a superstar lineup of artists that will surely be a crowd-pleaser. The Aboriginal Showcase, co-sponsored by FACTOR and Membertou First Nation, will take place Saturday night, February 19th, at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre. The performers include:

The ECMA Family Showcase stage promises to showcase a wide range of musical talents that will keep fans of all ages glued to the edge of their seats! The stage is set for a Sunday matinee performance at the Savoy Theatre in Glace Bay. This year?s Family Showcase performers include:

? Donna & Andy
? The Wilderbeats
The ECMA Atlantic Superstore Soundwaves program allows artists to connect with the community that is hosting the upcoming ECMA event through performances in schools during the weeks before the ECMA event. It will also increase the visibility of ECMA artists in the community and most importantly, grow the market for East Coast music locally. The first 2005 Atlantic Superstore Soundwaves concert kicks off in Baddeck at the Baddeck Academy on February 7th with Cape Breton acts Slowcoaster and Eric Angus Whyte. Other Soundwaves performers include:

All the ECMA showcase stages will allow Atlantic Canadian acts the opportunity to perform for a target audience of influential industry members including record label representatives, talent buyers, managers and media. They form an integral part of the ECMA experience, both for audiences and performers.

The ECMAs will take place in Sydney, Cape Breton, February 17-20, and will culminate in the ECMA Awards Gala Show, broadcast on CBC Television, Sunday, February 20 starting at 8 p.m. in all time zones (8:30 NT).
